POSITION OVERVIEW:

Looking for an experienced accounting professional who will be assisting with the monthly close of the accounting books and records, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, quarterly Statutory reporting, Corporation and VAT/ GST return for UK/European Jurisdictions. This exciting, well-rounded role offers great opportunity for development; covering several jurisdictions as a key contact between various Apollo teams including fund and corporate controllers; tax; legal and compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recording various accounting journals including expense accruals, costs allocations, revenue calculations, corporation income tax accruals under US/UK/IFRS GAAP, various reconciliations substantiating significant balances, income statement trends analysis, etc.
  • Month-end, quarter-end and annual accounting books closure, Year-end financial statements and timely completion of related audits.
  • Providing requisite accounting information to Tax team for Periodic VAT and GST returns filing and related payments.
  • Periodic CIT payments and annual tax returns.
  • Quarterly, half-yearly and annual UK/European Regulatory reporting with ongoing responsibility to ensure the regulated entities are adequately always capitalized.
  • Periodic revenue working and invoicing.
  • Cash management of entities under remit; settling the intercompany balances.
  • Business partnering and working on business development projects and team initiatives.
  • Consulting frequently with corporate / fund controllers, tax, compliance, legal teams in London and NY to ensure various matters are addressed proactively, timely and accurately.
  • Collaborating closely with the other team members on initiatives and ensuring team best practice.
  • Completing ad hoc and special requests as directed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Commerce graduate/CA Inter pass out, with 4 years of core experience in finance, accounting/controller role.
  • Candidate with Big4 experience would be a preference.•Proactive/can do attitude, ability to assume responsibility on tasks and “run with them” to conclusion are a key success factor.
  • Hands-on and strong attention to detail is a must•

  • Analytical – the individual synthesizes complex or diverse information•
  • Good oral and written communications adapted to various audiences•
  • Cope well under pressure and able to balance multiples task simultaneously•
  • High ethical standards and ability to observe confidentiality
