Job Description Summary

For over forty years, HarbourVest has been home to a committed team of professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to deliver impactful solutions to our clients and investing partners. As our global firm grows, we continue to add individuals who seek a collaborative, open-door culture that values diversity and innovative thinking.

In our collegial environment that’s marked by low turnover and high energy, you’ll be inspired to grow and thrive. Here, you will be encouraged to build on your strengths and acquire new skills and experiences.

We are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that promotes mutual respect among all employees. Understanding and valuing these differences optimizes the potential of both the individual and the firm.

HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

This newly created Director, Consultant Data & Content Operations role is responsible for building and leading a scalable process to ensure that consultant portals—across HarbourVest’s private funds and evergreen strategies—are consistently updated, accurate, and aligned with required reporting frequencies. The individual will work cross‑functionally with Consultant Relations, Investor Relations, Product Marketing, Client Operations, and other key teams to streamline information flows, optimize portal workflows, and build a team that supports high‑quality consultant data and content updates, enabling strong execution across consultant and commercial platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

Consultant Portal Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end process for updating consultant portals for assigned consultants across closed-end funds and open-ended funds in market.
  • Ensure all required materials (performance data, marketing collateral, fund updates, DDQs, RFP content, operational disclosures, etc.) are uploaded accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and version control, coordinating with subject matter experts across functions.
  • Develop dashboards, trackers, and workflow tools to proactively monitor upcoming deadlines and request cycles.

Operational Efficiency & Systems Development:

  • Build a scalable, repeatable operating model to manage consultant portals and commercial platform updates.
  • Lead process redesign efforts aimed at reducing manual work, improving accuracy, and accelerating turnaround times.
  • Assess third-party portal technology options and recommend enhancements.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Partner with Sales Enablement on RFP, RFI, and DDQ-related content needed for consultant portals.
  • Work with Investor Relations, Product Marketing, Operations, Legal/Compliance, and Performance Measurement to source accurate materials.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Compliance to ensure all uploaded content follows regulatory and SEC marketing guidelines.

Project Leadership & Communication:

  • Communicate expectations clearly and ensure accountability for deliverables.
  • Provide reporting and insights to leadership on portal performance and improvement opportunities.
  • And other responsibilities as required

What you bring:

  • Strong project management skills with proven track record to lead concurrent workflows.
  • Experience working with institutional investment consultants.
  • Familiarity with RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, consultant updates, and related workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize information into clear outputs.
  • Highly organized and operations-minded with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with RFP or content management tools (e.g., Loopio) a plus.

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in investment management, consulting, private equity, RFP/DDQ management, or similar functions.
