POSITION OVERVIEW:

At Athene, our Actuarial Associate I-III’s work alongside actuaries at various levels in their career and will rotate through the actuarial team as part of our student program, working on analytical and actuarial tasks used for statistical analysis. Due to Athene’s rapid growth, this opening is designed to attract actuarial candidates at various levels with interest and background in a variety of actuarial disciplines.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Prepare quarterly financial reports and improve processes within the actuarial department.
  • Understand the rate setting process for FIAs and ensure timely delivery.
  • Interface with other Actuarial functions and provide new business support.
  • Complete cyclical modeling runs for quarterly financials.
  • Research competitive positioning within retail product market and streamline processes.
  • Work with asset managers and risk department to review asset and ALM considerations.
  • Communicate results to senior managers.
  • Document and build out governance and necessary controls.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or any quantitative field.
  • Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams with a strong desire and willingness to work towards the Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the life insurance industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage several projects is a must.
  • Proven desire to take initiative and run with projects.
  • Experience with any regulatory requirements, such as LDTI or CFT would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and any actuarial valuation software (MG-ALFA preferred)
  • Comfortable working in a flat structured organization and interacting with executive management/investors is essential.
  • Ability to view “big picture”, understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
