POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to Sr Manager, Reinsurance Operations, this position is responsible for supporting all accounting and operational aspects of reinsurance transactions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with developing and refining streamlined operational processes to ensure timely and accurate reinsurance reporting and settlements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly deliverables, including certifications, in line with reinsurance treaties and other relevant agreements Support strong operational controls environment.
  • Prepare broker fee calculations and invoicing as required.
  • Maintain log of reinsurance settlements and cash recons.
  • Document and maintain appropriate processes and operational controls.
  • Upload reinsurance cash flows to treasury system to help facilitate liquidity management consistent with treaty terms.
  • Assist with internal and external audits,
  • Participate in other adhoc projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus a U.S. Certified Public Accounting (CPA) qualification or equivalent to the U.S. CPA supplemented by a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience.
  • Accounting and operations for U.S. reinsurance business preferred.
  • Experience with US STAT for reinsurance/insurance is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced analytical spreadsheet skills essential
  • Demonstrated initiative with excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
