Job Description

Ares Management is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Relationship Management team, focused on fundraising across the firm’s strategies, including Credit, Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Secondaries. The role will support institutional investors through the development of new relationships and the expansion of existing ones, with a particular focus on the Japan market. This position will work closely with senior members of the Japan Relationship Management team. We may also consider less experienced candidates at the Associate level.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Asia Relationship Management (“RM”) team, with an emphasis on Japan

  • Proactively support Senior Relationship Managers in managing existing investor relationships and maintaining a high level of service excellence

  • Assist in identifying and pursuing new investment opportunities within assigned coverage areas through consultative engagement with existing and prospective clients

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence, including investor sentiment, industry trends, and potential new clients

  • Track and maintain records of all investor and prospect interactions, including updating the Salesforce system, distributing meeting and conference notes, and managing related administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales, client coverage, or sales support function within an asset manager, investment bank, or alternative investment platform

  • Fluency in Japanese and business‑level English, both written and spoken

  • Self‑motivated and service‑oriented, with the ability to think strategically and contribute to business development efforts

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a strong work ethic

  • Strong understanding of alternative asset classes; familiarity with processes supporting fundraising and investor relations is preferred
