Job Description

Analyst, Infrastructure Latin America (Mexico office or São Paulo office)

The analyst will support La Caisse’s Latin America infrastructure team in both new investment activities and  post-investment management. The analyst will work closely with directors to evaluate and execute transactions grow to the infrastructure portfolio in Latin America, interact with portfolio companies, implement La Caisse’s governance and value-creation strategies, and liaise with internal stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will be

Transaction Support and Investment Execution

  • Conduct financial modelling for new investment opportunities, including valuation based on DDM, sensitivities, business plan reviews, and capital structure analysis;

  • Engage in due diligence processes, coordinating advisors and compiling findings across commercial, financial, legal, tax, technical, regulatory, and ESG workstreams;

  • Draft investment papers and presentations for internal committees and other internal/external stakeholders;

  • Conduct market and competitive research, mapping subsectors and identifying opportunities aligned with the team’s investment strategy;

  • Support business development efforts of the Latin America team;

Post-Investment Asset Management

  • Own and maintain the financial models of investments in portfolio companies, ensuring they updated, robust, and ready for valuation, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making;

  • Interact and build relationships with key counterparties from portfolio companies to timely obtain operational and financial information;

  • Assess operational performance using internal and external data sources; identify performance drivers, risks, and opportunities;

  • Support directors in the implementation of management action plans, governance directives, value creation initiatives, and risk management frameworks;

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering;

  • Master’s in financing, MBA or CFA would be considered an asset;

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in investing, corporate finance or investment banking;

  • Practical experience in financial analysis and modelling;

  • Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel is a must);

  • Use of AI models a plus;

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (or Portuguese), both spoken and written;

  • Fluency in French is an asset.
