This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

Position Summary

HarbourVest is seeking a strategic and forward-looking Workday Financials Platform Owner to steward and elevate our enterprise financial systems. This new role will shape the future of our Workday Financials platform—an essential component of our finance ecosystem—ensuring it supports the firm’s multi-entity, multi-currency operations with scalability and innovation.

You will operate at the intersection of finance, technology, and transformation, translating business needs into a cohesive and future-ready digital finance platform. Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Governance

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and operating model for HarbourVest’s Workday Financials platform, including Prism and Adaptive implementations.

  • Establish and drive governance forums that ensure disciplined design and stewardship of the platform.

  • Maintain cross-functional data governance, ensuring consistency in FDM structures, posting rules, workflow controls, and SoD frameworks.

  • Ensure consistently in design and data across multiple Prism and Adaptive applications

System Configuration & Architecture Leadership

  • Coordinate configuration and architecture with IT counterparts across core Workday Financials modules including Accounting, Consolidation, Banking & Cash, AP, AR, Assets, Projects, and Reporting.

  • Ensure alignment with GAAP, reporting requirements, and HarbourVest’s operational standards.

  • Develop, configure and refine advanced financial workflows including consolidation, close cycles, and enterprise reporting.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the primary customer concern point for business-related issues, enhancements, and cross-functional support needs.

  • Collaborate across Finance to identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

  • Champion operational excellence by optimizing financial processes, close timelines, and related accounting workflows.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with HR, IT, Security, Treasury, and Data teams to ensure cohesive platform management and resilience.

  • Advise senior leadership on Workday capabilities, emerging best practices, and strategic implications for the firm.

Reporting & Analytics Enablement

  • Lead the strategy and development of Workday reporting, dashboards, and analytics to support enterprise insights.

  • Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with audit, investor, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead expansion into Prism and Adaptive for extended reporting and modeling

Program, Release & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate large-scale Workday Ecosystem initiatives, including new module implementations and sophisticated platform enhancements.

  • Maintain relationships with Workday and strategic partners, ensuring delivery excellence and alignment to HarbourVest priorities.

Management:

  • Help to build and lead a team of Workday ecosystem business experts across Workday Financials, Prism and Adaptive

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 7–10+ years of Workday Financials experience in sophisticated, multi-entity environments.  Would consider candidates with significant and equivalent GL experience with other similar ERP systems.

  • Deep experience managing enterprise Workday Financials and other ERP financial platforms at scale.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit frameworks.

  • Exceptional ability to influence and engage executive partners.

Preferred

  • Experience in alternative asset management or global financial services.

  • Experience with Prism, Adaptive or other EPM tools and models

  • Prior experience as a platform owner or ERP transformation leader.

  • Advanced expertise in Workday ecosystem reporting and analytics.

  • Background supporting global, multi-currency financial operations.

Salary Range

$1.00 - $2.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
