OMERS Infrastructure, the infrastructure arm of OMERS, is a pioneer and global leader in infrastructure direct investing with over 25 years of experience originating, structuring, and actively managing infrastructure investments. We have approximately 75 investment professionals across offices in New York, Toronto, London, and Sydney.  As of December 2025, OMERS Infrastructure had ~C$41 billion in assets under management invested in a diversified global portfolio of utilities, renewable power, nuclear power, telecommunications, toll roads, ports, airports, and other essential services.

OMERS Infrastructure is currently seeking a high-performing Associate to join its investment team in Toronto. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and support all aspects of the investment process, including origination, execution and value creation / asset management.

You will be responsible for: 

  • Supporting research into prospective industries to develop industry theses and assisting in generating investment ideas for OMERS Infrastructure across our focus sectors
  • Building and critically reviewing financial models; assessing the integrity of the model and the financial returns of potential investment opportunities
  • Supporting commercial, technical, regulatory and other critical due diligence workstreams, driving towards clear outcomes – including assessment of the investment thesis and key risks – in partnership with external experts and advisers
  • Synthesizing key findings from research, financial analysis and meetings with management teams and diligence advisors into investment presentations and presenting these findings to investment committees
  • Supporting preparation of offer letters, term sheets and any other external written correspondence
  • Contributing to the strategic, financial and operational success of portfolio companies, including supporting strategy development, debt financings, follow-on acquisitions, and divestiture analysis, among other value creation activities
  • Developing an ability to think strategically and holistically in order to understand complex situations and develop strategies to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Being a team player and strong relationship builder, both internally and externally with our partners, advisers, peers and other stakeholders
  • Acting as a mentor to junior team members, promoting the success and development of Associates
  • Bringing a high level of engagement to internal activities and events

Required Skills:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in investment banking or direct investing in the infrastructure sector, including Energy, Transportation and/or Digital
  • Strong research, financial modelling and valuation capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to being a team player
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; high focus on quality of work product
  • Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; able to multitask effectively and work independently
  • Leadership capability to mentor, coach and develop junior team members
  • Intellectual curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and a thoughtful, diligent and proactive approach to gathering, synthesizing, and drawing useful insights from information
  • An appreciation for sustainability in our portfolio companies and in the investment decision making process
This posting is for an existing vacancy.The expected salary range for this position is $115,000-145,000 per year.
