Position Overview

At Apollo, we are building something rare: a firm where extraordinary people can do the best work of their careers and build whole careers here. We play to win, we operate with no walls, and we are uncompromising about what we expect from one another. This is a place where the best idea wins, every voice is expected to be heard, and we can count on each other in the moments that matter. That is what it means to be One Apollo. Apollo’s Atlas SP platform is a leading, high growth asset-backed finance business, with >$50bn AUM and >$50bn annual origination 3yrs after its founding. Atlas SP is the only large-scale warehouse financing and securitized products business operating outside the banking system. We are building something unique: a full service securitized products business, backed 100% by investor capital, and operating fully standalone front-to-back (origination, risk, portfolio management, finance, tech, operations, treasury).

The Role

Atlas is overseen by a team of 4 at Apollo. That team is responsible for the strategic oversight of the business: working with the Atlas SP CEO and Apollo Senior Leadership to: (1) set Atlas’ priorities, design the capital structure, the capital formation strategy, the business strategy (new asset classes, new products, position sizing) and the operating model; (2) execute on key strategic initiatives (big transactions, fundraises, strategic partnerships, restructurings, growth initiatives); and (3) ongoing portfolio management (reporting, financial planning). This role would be the middle role in that 4-person team, the “glue” helping drive outcomes and formulate strategy

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as day-to-day execution lead across all active workstreams, coordinating junior team members and driving deal momentum from origination through close
  • Prepare and present analysis on key strategic topics for senior leadership and other internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate and execute transactions, including investments made by and into the business, with full accountability for diligence, structuring, and documentation
  • Maintain regular engagement with key internal and external stakeholders — including investors, lenders, counterparties, and Apollo senior leadership — to advance strategic objectives and manage relationships
  • Oversee recurring reporting deliverables and continuously re-underwrite the portfolio, ensuring alignment with business strategy and risk parameters
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of key strategic initiatives, including capital structure decisions, new asset class expansion, and operating model development
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, elevating overall team capability and amplifying the impact of the platform

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in securitized products banking, FIG investment banking, or a related structured finance discipline
  • Deep understanding of securitized products, asset-backed structures, and related asset classes; desire to broaden proficiency in corporate finance and capital markets
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize structural features of transactions to enhance marketability while meeting the objectives of issuer clients
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to build and stress-test complex transaction models and present findings to senior audiences
  • Established network of institutional investor, lender, and counterparty relationships; experience engaging at the most senior levels with key external partners
  • Commercial acumen to balance firm risk objectives with transaction execution; ability to operate with a principal mindset across the deal lifecycle
  • Nimble, “business builder” mentality — willingness to embrace change, flex skillset to the demands of the role, and grow with the platform over time
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to synthesize complex topics and present with clarity to both technical and non-technical audiences
