Job Description
Ares Asia is hiring an Analyst, Secondaries in Hong Kong to support the underwriting and execution of real estate secondaries investments across Asia. You will join a lean, motivated team of experienced investment professionals and gain direct exposure to live transactions and investment committee processes. We focus on GP-led and LP-led real estate opportunities, applying a fundamental, analytically driven investment approach that pairs rigorous diligence with a partnership-oriented mindset to deliver capital solutions.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
Support the underwrite and execution of GP-led and LP-led real estate secondary acquisitions, including:
Build data-driven analyses and financial models; translate findings into clear investment recommendations
Coordinate pre- and post-offer diligence, including data requests, Q&A tracking, and investment memo support
Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors on documentation, negotiation, and closing
Contribute to origination through market mapping, outreach materials, and seller presentations
Assist with portfolio monitoring and asset management by reviewing reporting packages and tracking performance
Represent the firm at GP annual meetings and industry conferences, and participate in site visits independently as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of: real estate investing, real estate private equity, investment banking, secondaries, or co-investment/fund investing
Strong academic credentials
Working knowledge of real estate investments across asset classes and private market investment processes
Driven and proactive, with the urgency and discipline to deliver results
Able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and deliver with close attention to detail
Intellectually curious and an attentive listener, with thoughtful judgment and rigor in pursuing the right answer
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Japanese language skills are an advantage
